GhanaWeb multimedia journalist Ruth Dornukie Dornoo has graduated from the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB), formerly the African University College of Communications (AUCC), with the Outstanding Student in Journalism award at the institution’s 23rd Congregation Ceremony.

The award recognises her academic performance and commitment to journalism throughout her studies at the university.

Ruth’s achievement marks an important milestone in her academic and professional journey as she transitions from university education into the next phase of her career in the media industry.

“I have always been passionate about journalism, and this is just a stepping stone for me,” she said after the graduation and award ceremony on October 31, 2026.

Ruth previously undertook an internship at GhanaWeb, where she gained practical experience in multimedia journalism and newsroom operations.

Following the successful completion of her internship, Ruth returned to GhanaWeb to undertake her national service and has since become part of the organisation’s editorial team.

She currently works with the GhanaWeb Business Desk, covering developments in Ghana’s business and economic sectors. Her work involves reporting on corporate activities, financial markets, trade, entrepreneurship, industry trends and government policies affecting businesses and the wider economy.

Through her work, she contributes to keeping readers informed about developments in the business community and issues shaping Ghana’s economic landscape.

Her recognition at the AUCB congregation is also a proud moment for GhanaWeb, where she continues to hone her skills and contribute to the organisation’s coverage of national affairs.

The GhanaWeb team has congratulated Ruth on the achievement, describing it as a testament to her hard work, dedication and commitment to her chosen profession.

The team has also wished her continued success as she builds on the academic foundation and practical newsroom experience she has gained so far.
