Home - 'I will only accept GH¢50 and above in offerings' - Pastor orders church members
A cleric identified as Prophet John Papa Jesus has announced a new minimum offering of GH¢50 for members of his church.
He made the remark in a widely circulated video posted on X on Monday, September 28, 2026.
He explained that the decision followed an increase in transport fares, which he said had influenced his decision to increase the church’s offering rate.
“I’ve increased the church offering rate to 20%. I will accept only offerings of GH¢50 and above,” he said.
In the video, he compared his decision to the recent increase in transport fares.
“I’m not the same as Mahama, so I will increase my offering by 20%. Because transport fares have been increased by 8%,” the prophet said.
He further stated that he would not accept offerings below the newly announced GH¢50 minimum.
The announcement has since generated reactions on social media, with some users questioning the directive and the expectations placed on church members.
“Salvation is free of charge,” a user, identified as who knows riad, commented.
“Oh my goodness....Oman Wei paa,” another netizen said.
