Wonderful Friends
But something was missing….
Let me take you back a bit. I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada to a Ghanaian father and a Lebanese mother. When I was 8 years old, my family packed up and we moved to Ghana. Unfortunately, after just one year of our moving, my mother passed away. So my father moved my sister and I back to Canada to continue with our education.
As a young adult, working in a managerial role in a financial institution, I began visiting my family back in Ghana every few years. Those trips always made my soul happy! You see, in Canada, I had this wonderful career, all of the material possessions most people strive to achieve, a great set of friends and yet, I still felt as though something was missing in my life. So I began saving and planning to permanently moving to Ghana to begin a new chapter in my life. In 2015, I finally resigned from my job, sold my home and car, and shipped my entire house contents off for Accra, Ghana.
Please join me as I share my journey; including the highs and lows, finding a new line of work, establishing new friendships and transitioning into my new life here in Ghana!!
