The Greater Accra Kusaas Chief, Naba Billia Tiɛwin Faisel Mahama Abugri, joined the Zugraan delegation in Kumasi on Monday during the ongoing Otumfuo-led mediation process aimed at restoring lasting peace in Bawku.
Naba Billia Tiɛwin Faisel Mahama Abugri arrived as a duly recognized member of the Kusasi delegation, led by the Divisional chief of Pusiga Naba Tambisbaalug Kuwiak together with other divisional Chiefs and elders of the Kusaug Traditional Area.
The spokesperson for the delegation, Hon. Cletus Apul Avoka, articulated the collective position and historical claims of the Kusuag people before His Royal Majesty the Asantehene.
The mediation, facilitated by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has become one of the most significant peace efforts in recent years, bringing together all major stakeholders to address the long-standing tensions in Bawku.
Both parties have already expressed a renewed commitment to peace, raising hopes that a meaningful resolution is finally within reach.
In a message directed especially to Kusaug youth in Accra, Naba Billia Tiɛwin Faisel Mahama Abugri appealed for calm, discipline, and unity. He emphasized that the mediation is “almost at its end,” urging young people to avoid actions that could disrupt the delicate progress being made.
The chief noted that peace in Bawku is not only the responsibility of traditional leaders and mediators but also the duty of every Kusaug son and daughter, regardless of where they live.
His presence in Kumasi, alongside the Zugraan delegation, further highlighted the collective desire for peace and the readiness of leaders to support any initiative that brings a lasting solution.
