John Boye's FC Metz passed on chance to sign Majeed Waris

French Ligue 1 side, FC Metz abandoned the opportunity to sign Majeed Waris in the ongoing transfer.

The 26-year-old is on the verge of joining Strasbourg on a season-long loan.

"We followed it a lot but the situation was a bit complicated, it's a case that we stopped," says assistant general manager Philippe Gaillot.

Waris has a contract with FC Porto until 2022.
