Enyimba's Ghanaian goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has been hit with a game suspension following an altercation with a ball boy during his team's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match at Katsina United last Sunday.

The 32-year-old Ghana international has been sanctioned by the League Management Company (LMC) for "aggression towards a ball boy" in his team's 1-2 defeat at Katsina United.

Fatau was charged for assaulting the ball boy and behaving in a manner capable of inciting violence at the game.

"Enyimba’s goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda was suspended for one match and fined N50, 000 for aggression towards a ball boy during their match against Katsina United. Dauda was charged for breaches of Rules C11 and C1 which included assault on a ball boy and acts capable of inciting others to commit violence during their Matchday 18 fixture against Katsina United," the LMC stated.

Aftermath of the match also witnessed an incident in which the bus of Enyimba was vandalised and the LMC meted out sanctions to the Katsina club for violating NPFL rules.

Katsina United were fined N2.5 million with half a million compensation to Enyimba as well as cost to repair the damaged bus which is yet to be determined.

The Katsina club have also been ordered to play their next three home matches behind closed doors with two of them suspended which could be activated in the event of any further altercation at their Muhammadu Dikko Stadium ground.

LMC also placed Katsina United on "a sanction of three points deduction for probationary period lasting the rest of the season."

Fatau and Katsina United have till Thursday to appeal the decisions by the league body.
