McDan Communities CL: Ashaiman ready to roll out Education and soccer project

Thousands of juvenile footballers across Ghana would have the opportunity of earning academic scholarships locally and internationally through their football prowess.

This is the vision of the McDan Books & Boots Communities Champions League which kicks off on Saturday 1st September 2018.

The exciting project was drawn out by the Founder of Books & Boots Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and the CEO of McDan Group of Companies Dr Daniel McKorley whose passion for youth development through education and sports has seen him investing massively in Ghana tennis over the past decade.

Ampofo Ankrah has also confirmed that the British Broadcasting Corporation BBC are on board and would be covering the launch in Ashaiman on Saturday.

The McDan Communities Champions League is open to children from the age of 14 or below and would feature 12 colts teams from Ashaiman.

Educational partners include Active Minds Reading Club and the
Ghana Library Board.

In addition to the BBC partnership, there would media collaboration with
Kwesé Free Sports, Gtv and Metro TV.

African Dancehall icon Stonebwoy leads an array of stars who have committed to serve as Reading Ambassadors.

Others are ex Black Stars captain Stephen
Appiah, John Paintsil, Jonathan Mensah, Agyemang Badu, Prince Tagoe, Awudu Isaka as well as Ashaiman born and bred footballer Thomas Partey who plays for Athletico Madrid in Spain.

UK based radio and tv host Kwadjo Adjei Gyimah and Miss United Nations World Rebecca Asamoah are also Reading Ambassadors.

The port city of Tema would be the next destination of the McDan Books and Boots Communities Champions League a week after Ashaiman kicks off the nationwide tour.
