Ghanaian midfielder Joseph Paintsil made his competitive debut for KRC Genk in their 3-1 win over Aporring Charleroi in the Belgian Jupilar Pro League on Sunday.

The 20-year-old has not featured for the side since suffering an injury during their pre-season training last month.

He consequently missed games against Lokeren, Sint Truiden, Oostende and a couple of Europa League qualifiers.

Paintsil made his competitive debut for the Blue and White lads when he replaced Leandro Trossard in the 61st minute of the game against Sporting Charleroi.

A brace from Mbwatta Samata and Uronen Jere cancelled out Cristian Benavente’s early minute strike to hand Philippe Clement’s side maximum points.

Paintsil joined Genk on a four-year deal from Ghanaian second-tier side Tema Youth earlier last month.
