Eric Ofori Antwi – goalkeeper of Medeama Sporting Club (SC), has said, his team mates are worried about the delay in the commencement of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The GPL, which has been delayed and was expected to commence on Friday, March 2, at the various league centers was cancelled at the last minute, due to an injunction placed on the league by the management of Accra Great Olympics.

Ofori-Antwi in an interview with the GNA Sports on Monday, said his team mates were ready for the start of the league, but they are now in a state of uncertainty as to when the league would commence.

He said “we the players are worried about the delay in start of the league. We have been training and preparing since January, for the start of the league. The wait is really disturbing”.

On the performance of the team’s new coach, Samuel Boadu, the 23 year-old said “we are impressed with the new coach and we have confidence in him. The new players are blending very well with us and we are happy together.”

According to him, though the league has been suspended indefinitely, Medeama SC has set their sight on being among the top four.
