Ex-players of former Premier League campaigners Ho Voradep have called on residents of the Volta Region to ensure the defunct side is brought back to life since football talents are now going waste in the regional capital.

The 1992 FA Cup Champions are no more in existence after being relegated over two decades.

The Volta Region has produced excellent players from clubs like Kpando Hearts of Lions, Hot Steel, Golden Eyes and Homestars.

Some former players who spoke to Starr FM on the absence of the former FA Cup champions insisted politicians and other opinion leaders must come together to ensure Voradep is brought back to life.

“We the former players sometimes feel sad that our mother club is no more. This is a team that has produced great talents for all the national teams in the early nineties, talking of Felix Aboagye, Adjetey Lee, Fatau Dauda, Nasaamu Yakubu, Emmanuel Adjogu, Fafa Gbadegbe et al.

“All past ministers, MPs have all failed us, we are now counting on this current administration and all Voltarians in the Diaspora to quickly come together to revive Voradep.”

These former players, as part of efforts to revive the club, indulge in regular friendlies with the Police and Soldiers in the region to keep their campaign on course.

On March 6, the Voradep Oldies defeated the Old Battalions by 4-2 in a friendy.
