The problem is that unless the Government actually tackles the federations for what they've been upto all these years, the talent will stay away. And that is a loss to the country to nation building, exporting the flag and a sense of national pride. Look at the euro football tournament now and almost all the nations, except poland, iceland and germany have african footballers. We have to look at ourselves and ask ourselves why is it that our young ghanaians identify more with white european counterparts than their own heritage? Why are we not able to encourage them to the fold? a ghanaiann athlete was told recently that they were not ghanaian because they trained abroad! That's so dumb! it's like saying Federer should not represent switzerland because he trains abroad, or Andy Murray shouldn't represent GB because he trains abroad, or Mo Farah... you get my point.The world is shrinking. We need to be smart and harness talent and opportunity in order to grow and develop Ghana on an international stage through sports.
