Kanoute hails Asamoah Gyan

... for equalling Roger Milla's record
Ex-Mali captain Frederic Kanoute has described Asamoah Gyan as great for matching Roger Milla’s record as Africa top scorer in World Cup history.
Gyan scored in Ghana’s 2-2 draw with Germany in their Group G match last Saturday in Fortaleza.
The Al Ain striker is now on five goals in three World Cup finals and could better his record if he finds the back of the net against Portugal on Thursday.
Kanoute, named 2007 African Footballer of the Year, is happy Gyan has been able to reach such milestone.
“He is a very good player, and many people are surprised that he plays in the UAE League,” Kanoute said.
“Especially with our generation it is fantastic to meet the level of Roger Milla. I remember when we were kids we watch the World Cup and for us is an example.
“It is a great inspiration for him to reach his goal scoring at the World Cup. And I think he is great.”
