Ibrahim Sunday appeals for calm

Former Black Stars midfielder, Ibrahim Sunday, has described the performance of the Black Stars against United States as one of the best in recent times and attributed their defeat to hard luck.

He has, therefore, made a passionate appeal to soccer fans to motivate the technical team and players to deliver in their next encounters against Germany and Portugal.

“Instead of criticising the technical team and the players to demoralise them, soccer fans should rather offer them encouraging words for them to focus on their next two games.”

In a post-match interview with the Graphic Sports yesterday, Sunday stated, “The boys created a lot of chances which should have been utilised them.

In fact the match was one of the best I have witnessed in recent times, and I know that if they correct their mistakes and become more purposeful they can beat Germany and Portugal, to qualify for the next stage of the competition,” he explained.

“In soccer, it is possible to play a good game and yet lose. That is why it is important to utilise chances that come your way. United States created just a handful of chances and utilised them”.
