Football agents invaded our camp during CHAN – Konadu reveals

Coach Maxwell Konadu has revealed Ghana’s camp was invaded by football agents during the CHAN tournament.

The Black Stars finished runners up to Libya in the tournament hosted in South Africa.

Some of the impressive players in the team attracted interest from all quarters especially from clubs in South Africa.

Some of the agents of these clubs invaded the Ghana camp in their bid to secure contractual agreements with the players.

But coach Konadu says this emerging trend during the tournament was stopped in order to keep the players focused throughout the competition.

“Initially agents started infiltrating the camp, but we stopped that immediately,” he told Happy FM.

“We detected agents speaking to some of the players, but that was halted.

“We mostly directed the agents to the clubs of the players so that the boys will be left alone to focus on the games.”

Some of these agents are already in discussions with some of the Ghanaian clubs to secure the services of their players for teams abroad.

The players of interest include New Edubiase’s Asiedu Attorbrah, Nuru Sulley of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko’s Michael Akuffo.
