Ghanaians abroad: Ayew loses, Waris thrills in Ligue 1

ENGLAND

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien came on in the 90th minute as Chelsea went away and beat Hull City 2-0. Jeffery Schluup came on in the 71st minute as leaders Leicester City thrashed Derby County 4-1 at home.

Albert Adomah lasted 90 minutes as Middlesbrough cruised to a 2-0 away victory over Blackpool. Abdul Osman lasted the entire game as Crewe Alexandra lost 2-4 away to Rotterdam United.

Prince Buaben played 53 minutes as Carlisle United were thrashed 0-4 away by Leyton Orient. Patrick Agyemang played 76 minutes as Portsmouth played a 0-0 away draw with Oxford United. Jo Kuffour came on in the 79th minute as Wycombe Wanderers played a 1-1 away draw with Morecambe.

FRANCE

Jordan Ayew played 73 minutes in his debut for Sochaux, who lost 0-2 away to Olympique Lyonnais. Abdul Majeed Waris scored the winner and provided an assist for their second goal in his debut as Valenciennes beat Bastia 3-2 at home.

Striker Kwame Nsor was not in the Metz squad who went away to draw 2-2 with Le Havre . Dennis Appiah played full throttle for Caen who lost 2-1 to Tours.

SPAIN

Boakye Yiadom played 85 minutes for Elche who drew 1-1 with Seville.

ITALY

Alfred Joseph Duncan came on in the 63rd minute as Livorno were beaten 0-3 at home by Afriyie Acquah's Parma. Acquah played 76 minutes. Isaac Cofie played the last 28 minutes for Genoa who were trashed 4-0 by Roma at the Stadio Olympico.

Midfielder Yussif Chibsah Raman played 90 minutes at the heart of midfield for Sassuolo who beat Milan 4-3. Sulley Muntari is still serving suspension.

TURKEY

In the Lig 1, striker Kwame Amonsah Karikari scored the winning goal for Balikesirspor who beat Tavsanli Linyitspor 2-0. Striker Emmanuel Banahene played 90 minutes for Sanliufarspor who went down 0-1 to Karysiyaka.

Torric Jebrin and Shaibu Yakubu played 56 and 63 minutes respectively for 1461 Trabzon as they lost 4-0 to Fethyespor.

GREECE

Samuel Inkoom and Aziz Tetteh played the entire game for Platanias who were thrashed 3-0 by Asteras. Araugo Jamal was not in the Atromitos team who drew goalless with Olympiakos.

SOUTH AFRICA

Veteran Ghana defender John Paintsil lasted the entire duration as his side Santos tasted defeat in an away game against Vasco da Gama. The game ended 1-0 in Cape Town.
