Torric Jebrin eyes promotion in Turkey

Former Hearts of Oak teenage sensation Torric Jebrin is eyeing promotion from the Turkey second tier league to the Super League after a fine start to the 2012/13 season with 1461 Trabzon.

Torric who previously featured for Bucaspor in the European country, switched to Trabzon last year and has apparently rediscovered his magical touch starting all 11 of their league games this term before last Saturday’s away game to Adana Demirspor for whom another former Hearts of Oak star, Karim Alhassan played all second half.

Torric came on after 66 minutes to push Trabzon to the finish line as they recorded a 3-0 win on the road which pushed them up the table level with three other clubs at the top of the Turkey 1. Lig. And the 21 year old once hailed as the next Abedi Pele is raring to go on and power Trabzon to second tier league success.

“I signed for Trabzonspor about a year ago and have played 12 matches so far this season. It’s going very well, we are targeting promotion by the end of the season and with how things are going, it’s good,” Torric told 90 MINUTES exclusively from his Turkey base.

He continued: “I’m just praying to God that I maintain my fitness and stay injury-free and I know with hardwork, the season will go well for me.

“We want to play in the top league next season so we have to keep winning and we’ll work hard towards that.”
