Francis Boadi in Georgia

Former Great Olympics and national U-17 team star Francis Boadi is currently in Georgia training with a top flight club in the European country hoping to secure a permanent switch.

Boadi who was an integral player in the Black Starlets side which made the semi finals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea two years ago, nearly signed for Russian giants CSKA Moscow earlier this year. CSKA, winners of the UEFA Cup in 2005 desperately wanted to seal a deal for the 18 year old Ghanaian youngster who can play anywhere in defence or central midfield. Certain impediments however stalled the move much to the disappointment of CSKA, believed to be feeder club for Chelsea with the English Premiership club owner Roman Abrahimovic rumoured to be their real financier.

But Francis Boadi has now set his sights on taking the Georgian League by storm when he finally signs for the club. The deal which will see Boadi become the first Ghanaian to play in Georgia was secured through the hardwork of a Ghanaian who was born in England and is a football FIFA agent based in the UK who has also in the past almost secured Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah a deal in London.
