We are getting to know each other - Baba Rahman

Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman believes the Black Stars have the wherewithal to go all the way to the final at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Black Stars qualified to the knock-out stage after beating Guinea Bissau 2-0 in a game Baba created both goals.

He played a long searching ball down the left hand side that found Jordan and he went on to score.

The second was a bit more difficult as he had to work his way up the field and carefully pass it to Thomas Partey, who then found the net from close range – a performance that has earned him many plaudits.

Baba played every game for the Black Stars en route to the final in 2015, when Ghana lost it to Ivory Coast on penalties but he believes the sense of unity in this team will elevate them.

“We are showing confidence in each game. I just need to keep up the good work and keep doing what I do best. We started slow but the team in growing.

“We are getting used to each other and playing well now so I guess we should continue like this and go on and win the trophy.

“It is getting interesting now because this is the knockout stages. We have a tough game ahead of us but we can do it.”

Ghana’s record against Tunisia at the Africa Cup of Nations makes for happy reading. The last time Tunisia forced a draw against Ghana in the Cup of Nations was in 1963.

Since then the Black Stars have always won against them.

Many Ghanaians including Baba Rahman will hope that it is another happy day for Ghana on Monday.
