Wa All Stars returns to Upper West Region ahead of GPL start

Football fans in the upper west region have been given another hope with the dramatic return of topflight football to the region despite the exit of Wa All Stars FC.

Wa All Stars FC ended its 12 years stay at the Wa Malik Jabir Park after the forced change of ownership saw the club moved to Accra.

The football fraternity, however, have been given another chance to enjoy Premier League football ahead of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.

Head coach of the club, John Paintsil, gave hope to the upper football fraternity with the news that some of their home matches will be moved to the Wa Malik Jabir Park when domestic football resumes.

Speaking on GTV Sports Plus, John Paintsil consoled the football populace in Upper region with the surety of enjoying Premier League football.

“Wa All Stars is now based in Accra but will request to play some of their GPL matches in Wa”, coach John Paintsil told GTV Sports+.

Wa All Stars FC booked their place in the topflight of Ghana football on March 2007 and have since enjoyed uninterrupted stay in the premier led by the 2016 triumphant campaign.
