World football governing body Fifa has announced the official list of players, including four men of Ghanaian descent, for the upcoming Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.

Despite the inability of 2009 champions Ghana to qualify, the quartet are set to play at the championship, albeit for other countries.

A total of 504 players will represent their nations at the tournament which kicks off on Saturday.

In the search for their second title, France have included Nantes defender Enock Kwateng in their final team. Born in Mantes-la-Jolie to Ghanaian parents, the right-back’s 11 Ligue 1 appearances this season have been enough to earn him a place in coach Ludovic Batelli’s set up.

With experience playing with the French under-16, 17 and 18 set-ups, the full-back was part of the team that won the Uefa European Under-19 Championship last year.

Elsewhere, Kentu Malcom Badu could be in action for Germany in Saturday’s Group B opener against Venezuela. The right-back, who is yet to make a senior appearance for Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, was a rather surprise inclusion in the final squad.

When the USA line up against Ecuador, as many two players, who could potentially play for the Black Stars, could be in action.

Las Palmas striker Emmanuel Afriyie Mario Sabbi has been rewarded for his good showing at the Concacaf Under-20 Championship earlier this year with a place in the team at Korea.

The frontman could play alongside Kumasi-born Derrick Jones Amaniampong on Monday. After movingto the United States at the age of 14, the Philadelphia Union midfielder made his debut for his adopted country in October last year.
