Sport Minister Expresses Confidence in Ghanaian Youth

Papa Owusu-Ankomah, Minister of Youth and Sports, has expressed confidence in the ability of the Ghanaian Youth to rise above the problems of today to play effective role as future leaders.

He said this in a message signed by Mr Kofi Aggrey, Pubic Relations Officer of the ministry on the occasion of the International Youth Day.

The Minister praised the good work of organisations that have helped raised awareness of the youth and their willingness to work together for the good of society.

"By and large, you have done remarkable in standing firm in the face of all the ills that have threatened this nation's development," he said.

Papa Ankomah however, expressed regret at the unsatisfactory conditions under which some youth live and said, government is determined to give necessary attention to enable them grow into responsible self-reliant citizens.

He congratulated youth from all over the country on the International Youth Day and urged them to take the principles of good living seriously especially on the debilitating effect of HIV/AIDS in order to bring honour to God, themselves, parents and the nation.
