Resigned Kotoko Management member Edmund Ackah has revealed an ill-intended plot by the club’s executive director and employees of his media firms to destroy the reputation and tarnish the image of some officials.

Ackah who held the post of Accra Rep surprisingly resigned from the Kotoko, deepening the woes of the club who are currently enmeshed in a transfer war involving FIFA and Tunisian side Esperance.

Lifting the lid on his shocking decision to sever ties with the current management of Kotoko, Ackah on the Asempa sports morning show detailed how Kwame Kyei and some journalists of Light FM met at a fuel station to plot his downfall.

Ackah narrated how with the approval of the Kwame Kyei, Light FM presenters run down some management members of Kotoko including CEO George Amoako and Nana Kwame Dankwa, a member of the club’s supporters wing.

He said the scheme included the levelling of financial mismanagement allegations and thievery allegations against him and the other two persons.

“The Wednesday before my resignation, there was a meeting at a filling station between my former boss and some group of his, specifically his Light FM guys. Somebody called me and sent a picture of the group and their plans which is to rundown you, George Amoah and Nana Kwame. Some of them will sit down on radio and campaign for him to sack you else they will demonstrate against him”.

“On Thursday morning those guys went to his radio station to say it. The agenda they set in the night manifested in the day to the extent I have taken $50,000 from him (Kwame Kyei) when he knows in the two years I served under him, he never gave me GHC1 to do business on Kotoko’s behalf”.

Revealing what might have triggered the decision by Kwame Kyei to witch hunt and disgrace him, Ackah said an employee of the business mogul told him at a fuel station that his supposed decision to appoint Kumasi-based Fox FM’s Opoku Afriyie as the spokesperson for the Black Stars B enraged Kwame Kyei.

“His head of sports at Light FM met me a fuel station and said you know Dr doesn’t like Opoku Afriyie and you appointed him as media officer. Dr is very angry with you. But I told him how can a team manager make appointments. Ohene Brenya who is a team manager at Kotoko, can he recruit officials or players?”, he quizzed.
