Real Valladolid sporting director, Miguel Ángel Gómez has addressed transfer speculation linking Ghana centre-back Mohammed Salisu move to Manchester United.

However, Everton, Southampton and Norwich are all in race to sign the Salisu.

Salisu has a €12million release clause after signing a contract extension in May this year until 2022.

However, Gomez says Valladolid handed him the three years contract extension in an attempt to keep him at the club.

The sporting director spoke openly about Salisu's future and how he wants to keep him at the La Liga club insisting that the Ghana youngster loves the club and does not expect him to leave.

“Salisu perceives the love of the club because we have made three contracts in thirteen months,” Gomez told Pucela Fichajes .

“He knows that he is an important player and that we would like to proceed with that renewal, but today there is a standstill.”

Mohammed Salisu has made 14 appearances this season, scoring one goal.
