Playing Daniel Darkwah against Nkana was a risk – CK Akunnor

Kotoko coach, Charles Kwablan Akunnor has applauded Daniel Darkwah for his impressive display against Nkana FC on Sunday but revealed that it was a risk playing him.

Kotoko returned to winning ways by defeating the Zambian side 3:0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The former Aduana Stars defender was named in place of skipper Amos Frimpong who was suspended after accumulating a total of two yellow cards in the group stages of the tournament.

Darkwa greatly impressed in the game assisting Emmanuel Gyamfi to the second goal of the game.

Speaking after the game, the former Dreams FC trainer who could not hide his joy about his ‘newbie’ said,, “Daniel Darkwa was a risk, but sometimes you need to take that risk, I am proud of the young man, I thought he would not last the full ninety but he did,” said an impressed Akunnor.

Kotoko will host Al Hilal on Sunday, March 10 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
