Over half of 50,000 test kits ordered has arrived - Health Minister

Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has disclosed that Ghana currently has "a little over half” the test kits President Akufo-Addo ordered for.

Responding to a question at Wednesday’s press briefing, the minister further disclosed that Ghana is awaiting the remaining half.

But added we have enough test kits to test all the samples collected so far.

President Akufo-Addo, few weeks ago announced that the government was in the process of securing some 50,000 test kits as part of measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country.

In an address to the nation on Saturday, March 21, 2020, President Akufo-Addo indicated that contact tracing has been intensified as every person who has come into contact with infected persons will be tested for the virus hence the need to secure more test kits.
