Nyantakyi runs his mouth like a conman - Pius Hadzide

Suspended Deputy Sports Minister Pius Enam Hadzide has said the embattled President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, run his mouth in “typical conman” fashion when he was engaged by undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas who posed as a potential investor.

“I believe Kwesi Nyantakyi, typical of a conman, was running his mouth and cajoling potential victims to part with huge sums of money and that really and truly, Kwesi was not on an errand for and on behalf of anybody.

“I believe that Kwesi has only a professional relationship with the president and Vice-president and that neither of the two gentlemen will ever discuss matters of this nature with Kwesi or anybody for that matter. In fact neither of the two gentlemen would ever even conceive of that idea.

“In fact it is my view that if this was a real deal, and did materialise, Kwesi would have kept all the cash for himself thinking that the victims do nothing about it”, Mr Hadzide said on social media.

Mr Nyantakyi is currently being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for collecting bribe and also using the names of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to solicit bribes.

In the undercover piece, he said: “We will take over the whole country”, once the so-called investors brought millions of dollars to bribe the president, vice-president and some officials at the presidency.

Government has dissolved the GFA as a result of the rot unearthed by the documentary.
