Dyed in the wool Asante Kotoko fan Seidu remorsefully carried Coach CK Akonnor shoulder high after their 2-1 win over Cameroonian side Coton Sport Garoua at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Seidu who is famously known for physically stopping coaches from training when he’s personally unhappy with the performance of the team ignorantly vented his spleen on CK Akonnor after the club’s 1-1 stalemate with AshGold in the JA Kufour Cup.

He threatened to physically hinder Akonnor from training, compelling the club to hire police personnel to protect the team during trainings.

According to him, despite the club not losing matches, their goal scoring rate was low and he was unhappy, calling for the head of the coach.

His empty threats had no negative effect on CK Akonnor as he guided the Porcupine Warriors to a 3-2 away win in Yaoundé in the first leg before finishing it off in Kumasi with a 2-1 win on Sunday to give the Fabulous Boys a 5-3 aggregate score line.

Seidu who felt ashamed by his conduct and aimless rants jumped to the inner perimeter of the Baba Yara Sport Stadium to carry Akonnor on his shoulders to show solidarity, eating back his words against the young but experienced coach.

Asante Kotoko are now in the Group Stage of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in eleven years.

The Porcupine Warriors will be in Group C to battle it out with Zambian sides Nkana Red Devils, Zesco United and Sudanese giants Al Hilal.
