Kotoko to play Cote d’Ivoire club in firendly match

As part of efforts to keep their players in shape ahead of their Champions League tie against Kanu Pillars, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has arranged a friendly game against Societe Omnisports De Larmee of Cote d’Ivoire next Wednesday.

The game which is expected to be played at the Baba Yara Stadium would be the first match of the Porcupine Warriors before their Champions League preliminary clash on August.

The Garden City club is Ghana’s sole representatives in the competition after winning the Tier One league organised by the Normalisation Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

Victory for Coach Kjetil Zachariassen’s lads would go a long way to motivate them ahead of that epoch Champions League clash against the Nigerian club.

This encounter would also be an opportunity for Omnisport de l'Armée who are the only Ivorian team in the champions league to test their squad as they prepare to compete against FC Nouadhibou in two weeks’ time.

Last Sunday, the Porcupine Warriors defeated Burkinabe side, Rahimo FC by 2-1 in an international friendly and would hope to repeat the same feet against their Ivorian opponents on Wednesday.
