Kjetil Zachariassen has raised concerns over the quality of Sani Abacha Stadium ahead of Kotoko’s CAF Champions League clash against Nigerian top-flight side Kano Pillars.

The first leg of the tie will take place in Kano on the weekend of August 9-11 with the return leg set for Kumasi two weeks later.

”Nigeria we know quite well but it’s the ground, the AstroTurf they play on, so we will be digging deep into that, what type of field we gonna play, so that will be the main issue so we are preparing for it,” Zachariassen told Oyerepa FM.

Kotoko’s last appearance in the Champions League was in 2015. The Porcupines were eliminated in the first-round by Algerian side MC El Eulma.

The winner of the two-legged match will progress to the final round to play either Hafia FC of Guinea or Tunisian club, Etoile du Sahel.
