Inter Allies coach Owusu blames slow start for defeat to WAFA

Coach Prince Owusu blamed a slow start for Inter Allies’ defeat to league leaders WAFA SC on Saturday.

The Eleven is To One succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the Red Bull Arena courtesy a brace from Prince Ampem who registered both goals in the 4th and 54th minutes.

“I think we started poorly. Right about 15 minutes, they were all over us and even scored in four minutes. That was a big blow – I don’t know if it was from the warm-up, we didn’t start well,” coach Owusu bemoaned.

He went on: “We came back strongly but in the second half, one of the boys made a mistake and gave the ball away and a through pass and it ended up in the second goal. Sometimes, things happen that way.”

”I think the performance is not that bad. We are picking the pieces. Our problems will be solved internally.”

Inter Allies finished the first round of the 2016/17 GHPL with 18 points from a possible 45.
