Ghanaian international Abdul Rahman Baba has revealed that he always wanted to be a soccer player when growing up.

The mercurial left-back mentioned that he did not have a particular player he looked up to as a kid since he took delight in watching any good player.

“Actually when growing up in Tamale I always wanted to be a footballer. I did not have a role role, all I did was to play and enjoy the game.” Baba told footballmadeinghana.com

“I was watching all the good players and when I go on the field, I try to emulate their skills. My dream was to be a professional player and I am glad I have achieved that.

“I started as a midfielder but my colts club coach in Tamale turned me into a defender.” He added.

Baba who spent the just ended season at Stade Reims on loan from Chelsea has also previously played for Dreams FC, Kotoko, Greuther Furth and Augsburg.
