Hearts of Oak owe me GHC 7,000 cedis – Don Bortey

Former Hearts of Oak winger, Don Bortey, has revealed that his former side owed him an amount of GHC 7,000.

According to the former Black Stars player, the Phobians failed to pay the full amount of his signing on fee when he joined the club in 2001.

“When I joined Hearts of Oak, the management promised to give me GHC 10,000 for three years,” he told Happy FM.

“I was given GHC 3,000, the rest has still not been paid. I know GHC 7,000 is not any money for Hearts of Oak, so I’m pleading with them to settle me.”

In 2001, Bortey joined the Phobians from defunct GHAPOHA – he won three Premier League titles. He played a key role as the Phobians defeated Kotoko to win the maiden edition of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2005.
