Scores of Ghanaian Social Media activists and users are tweeting and posting anti-Kwasi Appiah messages geared towards seeing the 59-year-old removed as head coach of the Black Stars.

Disappointed Ghanaian football fans are sending protest messages on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp platforms over his continuous stay head coach of the Ghana national team.

Majority of Ghana’s football fraternity remain unhappy about the fate with the Black Stars technical and would be happy to see the back of the soft-spoken coach who many believe does not fit the bill to manage the Black Stars.

The former Ghana captain led the West African giants to their worst ever AFCON performance since 2006 after being eliminated at the round of 16 with a defeat to Tunisia in Ismailia.

Local fans have seen many failed coaches of other participating countries lose their jobs but ‘don’t understand’ why the Ghana coach is still at post.

Kwasi Appiah told Ghanaians in a pre-tournament interview that he had received the best of preparations needed to equipe him to deliver the AFCON title but he failed miserably.

President of Ghana’s GFA Normalisation Committee Dr Kofi Amoah told popular broadcast journalist Patrick Osei Agyemang that the coach signed a performance contract and he would be fired if he fails to deliver the AFCON which has eluded Ghana in 37 years.

Despite these commitments the coach still remains at post leaving scores of social media users to lead the campaign against the coach.

Counter Group…

On Tuesday a separate group also hit platforms with graphic messages expressing their backing for the former Asante Kotoko player.

The core of their message is built in the fact that Appiah is a local coach and they believe a Ghanaian is competent enough to handle the Black Stars.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is expected to decide the fate of the coach who has a running contract until December 2019.
