New Head coach of Accra Great Olympics, Prince George Koffie has disclosed that veteran Ghanaian striker, Bernard Dong Bortey is not part of his squad for the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

The former Hearts of Oak star confirmed in an interview that he had penned a 2-year-deal with The Wonder Club and would be available to play in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.

Bortey promised to restore Great Olympics to prominence on the local front and even help them to qualify for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) African Club Competitions.

Despite training with the club ahead of the start of the season, Dong Bortey can no longer be seen training with the longer anymore.

Great Olympics have had a difficult start in the Ghana Premier League campaign losing two consecutive games and they sit above their regional rivals Hearts of Oak, who are both without a point.

Olympics were a few minutes away from earning their first points in the campaign last Sunday when they hosted Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium. The home side were unable to score a goal despite their fine display. Aduana Stars later found the back of the net in the final minutes of the game after being held by the Wonder Club for nearly 90 minutes.

When asked about the availability of Dong Bortey in a Post-Match presser with the media, Coach Prince George Koffie disclosed that the player was no more with the team.

He said, “When I came to the team, I never met Dong Bortey, I never trained Dong Bortey and he’s not part of the team.”

Coach Prince George Koffie took over from coach Isaac Nii Armah four days to the start of the League.
