Coronavirus: NDC Parliamentary candidate donates to Half Assini Government Hospital

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate of the Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey has donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to Half Assini Government Hospital as part of her effort towards the fight against the deadly Coronavirus.

The items included; 6 boxes of gloves, 2 boxes of face masks, 5000ml of hand sanitizer and 5000 ml of liquid soap.

The donation was made on Friday, 3rd April 2020.

The items were received by Dr Frank Agbormodzi on behalf of the management and staff of the hospital.

Receiving the items, Dr Frank Agbormodzi thanked the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the area, Dorcas Toffey for her continuous support to the Hospital.

Some staff members who were present during the donation were overjoyed and expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the candidate for her periodic donations to the Municipal Hospital.

Miss Dorcas Affo-Toffey who is also a philanthropist, therefore, seized the opportunity to give 200ml of hand sanitizer each to each staff present for their personal use.

NDC Parliamentary Candidate tours Communities to educate residents

The NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Dorcas Toffey, and her team of medical professionals have embarked on a tour of all communities in the Jomoro Constituency to sensitive constituents on the preventive measures against COVID-19.

She has so far distributed close to a thousand Veronica buckets, over 6 thousand pieces of 200 ml hand sanitizers, 150 boxes of face masks, 120 boxes of hand gloves and 1,600 bottles of liquid soaps to most Communities and institutions in Jomoro Constituency.

She had earlier donated some PPEs to the Ekabaku Clinic and Anwiafutu CHPS compound for the fight against Coronavirus.

In a brief interview with GhanaWeb's Western Regional Correspondent Daniel Kaku, Dorcas Affo-Toffey charged the Half Assini Government Hospital and other health facilities to put the items into good use.

She applauded the health workers in the Jomoro Constituency for their commitment exhibited so far in the combat against the Coronavirus.

She encouraged them to continue to work hard to support the fight against the fast-spreading pandemic.

Madam Affo-Toffey condemned those using the deadly Coronavirus pandemic to do partisan politics.

She called on other benevolent organizations and individuals to come on board to fight the spread of the virus.

She advised the residents to adhere to the preventive measures outlined by the Ghana Health Service and World Health Organization (WHO) by washing their hands with soaps under running water and stay home.

She, however, indicated that she would be donating to the Siloam Gospel Clinic, the Bonyere Clinic and Tikobo 1 Clinic in the subsequent days.

In September 2018, the philanthropist cum politician, Miss Dorcas Affo-Toffey donated a brand new ambulance and some PPEs to the Half Assini Government Hospital to help improve healthcare delivery in Jomoro.
