Confed Cup: Moroccan referee to handle Kotoko v Zesco match

Moroccan referee, Noureddine El Jaafari, has been appointed to handle the CAF Confederation Cup clash between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Zambian side Zesco United on Wednesday, February 13 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Jaafari would be assisted by compatriots Hicham Ait Abbou and Youssef Mabrouk as first and second assistant referees respectively while Samir Guezzaz takes charge as the fourth official for the day.

Rwandan Aaron Rurangirwa has been appointed as the Match Commissioner while IIboudo Serge Paulin Samuel from Burkina Faso will be the Referee Assesor.

The match officials are expected to arrive in the country on Monday ahead of the Group C encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Kotoko lost their first group game 1-0 away from home last weekend against Sudanese side Al Hilal and would be looking to grab their first three points on Wednesday to improve their chances of qualifying to the quarter-final stage of this year’s competition.
