C.K Akunnor laments over Ashgold's poor display against Liberty

AshantiGold head coach Charles Akunnor has lamented his team’s poor display as well as poor officiating following their 1-0 loss to Liberty Professionals in week 24 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Elephants moved back into the relegation zone after recording the second successive loss after their seven-match unbeaten run was ended by Elmina Sharks last week.

According to the experienced coach, his players didn’t play to his instructions and bemoaned some dubious referee decisions which accounted for their loss.

“The game was an open game but I was not happy with the way we lost especially with my defenders. I don’t want comment about referee decisions but this has been a problem in our country and so the league doesn’t thrive but am more focused on what my players did.

Meanwhile, AshantiGold have an outstanding game against WAFA on July 30, as they look forward to boost their survival chances with a win.
