Bursaspor and Ghana midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, has denied throwing a jab at the Black Stars technical team after he was dropped from the squad called up for Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Congo on Friday.

A news headline titled “You can’t retire the King” on social media seemed to suggest Badu had taken a jibe at the head of the technical team, Kwesi Appiah.

But speaking to Class Sports, Badu, who currently plies his trade for Turkish Super Lig side Bursaspor, said he has enough respect for the coach and will not disrespect him.

“We have a crucial double header qualifier ahead of us and we need to concentrate and pray hard that Egypt can slip then we can put fire on them. These so-called journalists writing some stuff about me saying I’ve said something about the head coach of the national team or the Black Stars is not true,” he stated.

“I know what the national team has done for me and I know what I have gained from my association with the team. I don’t want them to create any tension between me and the man because he has been good to me. He has really helped me and has been advising me a lot and I don’t hold anything against anyone,” he added.
