Aduana coach reveals Godfred Saka is playing through pain barrier

Head Coach of Aduana Stars Yusif Abubakar has revealed that club captain Godfred Saka has been playing with an injury since the commencement of the season.

Saka has been instrumental in the Dormaa based side’s remarkable start to the season which sees them top the league after six games played.

Yusif Abubakar says the 28-year-old right back has been forced to play through pain due to some technicalities in the team’s tactics.

“He is still playing, but he is not fit. People do not realize but Godfred Saka is not fit. We have practiced some things and he has to play. So perhaps maybe later on we will look at him,” he said.

The Right to Dream graduate was named ‘Most Promising Player’ in his first season with Aduana Stars, and has been a mainstay in the team ever since.

His exploits for the club have also earned him a call up to the local Black Stars, and represented Ghana in the 2013 West African Football Union Nation’s Cup.
