Adebayor invites public to Beach Soccer festival Saturday

With the 3-day festival to launch the Emmanuel Adebayor Foundation set to commence tomorrow night at the Trassaco Valley in East Legon, Accra, the Togo star with the people at heart has earmarked Saturday’s beach soccer fiesta as one for Ghanaians and the general public to share in.

Many of Africa’s leading diplomats, statesmen, opinion and decision makers, star footballers and media from across the globe will gather to launch the Emmanuel Adebayor Foundation spanning programmes on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday which are all by strict invitation. The Togo captain noted for his benevolence and humanitarian work is aiming to extend more charity to several deprived African communities but he is concerned that the people for whom the Foundation is billed to cater for, won’t have the opportunity to be present at most of the events ushering in the charity.

That is why the Beach Soccer match between an Adebayor select side and the Media off the Labadi beach in Accra on Saturday morning has been labelled the highlight of the launch activities as it opens to the general public for free.

The beach soccer action will also be interlaced with a bikini fashion show and musical concert featuring Togo, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Mali artists at halftime of the soccer on the beach. In essence, it will be a small version of what is billed to happen later in the evening at Adebayors residence where there will be a musical concert featuring Togo’s Koolcatche versus Ghana’s famous Azonto.

According to Foussena Djagba, Adebayor’s publicist, the Manchester City forward is concerned that he can’t have a 3-day event for the the people and not have them sharing in it.

“Ade feels that since most of the foundation’s work will be for the people, so why can’t they be part of the launch celebration. So the beach festival is open to the general public so that they can also share in this fantastic event,” Madam Djagba explained.Credit:
