Minister urges youth fellowships to live up to expectation

Kumasi, Jan 14, GNA- The Reverend Peter Kofi Nyarkoh, District Minister of the Bantama Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has admonished members of youth fellowships of the various churches to maintain high moral standards in all their endeavours.

He said they should be truthful, honest, disciplined and work hard and avoid reckless lifestyles to enhance the image and growth of Christendom.

Rev Nyarkoh was speaking at the inauguration of the Bantama branch of the Young Adult Fellowship (YAF) of the church in Kumasi on Sunday. The fellowship aims among others to embark on evangelism activities this year to increase the church's membership.

The Minister said much as youth fellowships formed an important component of the church, members should not use it as an avenue to engage in unhealthy practices, since that defied the purpose for which it was instituted.

Rev Nyarkoh appealed to Christians to pray fervently for a peaceful election and also ensure a successful CAN 2008 tournament to consolidate the peace the nation is currently enjoying.

Mr Enyo Lotsu, Chairperson of the eight-member executive of the fellowship, which was inducted into office, gave the assurance that the fellowship would be committed to its duty for effective propagation of the gospel.
