Church offertories have even reduced because of the hardship in Ghana today – Prophet Badu

The amount of money a number of christians give out to churches in the form of offertory has reduced significantly due to the hardships Ghanaians are enduring under the Nana Akufo-Addo government, leader of the Glorious Wave Chapel International, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi has said.

Speaking in an interview with Kofi Adoma Nwanwani on Kofi TV, the controversial man of God said the intensity of the challenges facing the Ghanaian economy and Ghanaians as a people is so dire that Christians have had to drastically cut down on the monies the give out in church as offertory.

In response to a question sent to the show host by a viewer on whether or not the churches are also suffering due to the state of the economy the controversial man of God said, “…One pastor even made me laugh, he said several pastors can’t even go shopping anymore.

I even laughed and asked him how they even shop. A lot of pastors are saying same, the money has gone down.

The church members are suffering, they’re in hardship. You should find time and speak to some of the pastors.”

Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi in the same interview said Ghanaians will continue to endure hardship for the foreseeable future. He says however that the situation will improve marginally in 2019. He claims the hardship in Ghana will reduce by just 10% in 2019.



The leader of the Glorious Wave Chapel has been in the news severally in the past few years. He’s known to be one whose prophecies are often challenged by many, including fellow pastors.

One of such was his former mentor, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah over who was to win the 2016 General elections. Prophet Badu Kobi had insisted that John Dramani Mahama was to win the 2016 elections but that claim was ridiculed by Rev. Owusu-Bempah who said Nana Akufo-Addo was destined to lead Ghana from 2017.

By December 9, 2016 however, Nana Akufo-Addo had been declared winner of the 2016 General Elections after polling 53.35% of valid votes cast beating the incumbent John Mahama, who managed a 44.4%
