Two persons have been confirmed dead at Sibi in the Nkwanta North District of the Oti Region after two Konkomba clans clashed over a parcel of land.

MyNewsGh.com gathered that the Nankpatiib and Bigbim clans are all laying claim to the land at the centre of controversy which has been earmarked for construction of a market at Sibi Hilltop.

Confusion over who is the rightful owner of the said land, led to gun battle between the two clans resulting in the death of two persons while others are reported to have suffered varying degrees of injuries according to the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Jackson Kwame Jakayi.

He revealed that a combined team of armed police and military personnel have been dispatched to the community to douse the escalating tension in the wake of women and children fleeing for fear of reprisal attacks.

No arrest has been made but police in the area reveal that they are on a hunt for perpetrators behind the latest violence which has left two persons dead.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Sibi Hilltop, Ubor Chanuun I whose brother was shot and killed leaving behind two wives with several children is urging his subjects to disarm and allow the laws of the country to work.
