Prestea-Huni Valley Assembly donates furniture to GES

The Prestea-Huni Valley Municipal Assembly of the Western Region has donated about thousand six hundred furniture to the Ghana Education Service (GES) branch in the area.

Speaking to GhanaWeb after the donation, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mozart Kwaku Owuh said the current NPP administration has great better plans for education.

Based on this, Mr Owuh said himself and MP for the area, Lawyer Barbara Oteng Gyesi have decided to support the education sector with the Mineral Development Fund (MDF).

Evident of that decision he said is the furniture now made available to all three SHSs within the Municipal and some Basic Schools.

Lawyer Barbara Oteng-Gyesi promised to add 500 more furniture to the 1600 already donated to make a total of 2100.

This she said could aid limit the problems of inadequate furniture in schools in her jurisdiction.

She advised the Heads of the schools to practise good maintenance culture on the furniture in order to prolong their lifespan.
