The University of Ghana Students Representative Council is urging students to stay calm as it meets the University management over a directive that students should vacate the various halls of residence, taking with them all their belongings by 4 pm on Saturday.

The SRC says that it has taken notice of the concerns raised by the students over the directive and will be meeting school management to review its position.

However, the SRC is urging students to prepare to vacate the campus before the Saturday deadline.

A statement from the Registrar of Wednesday asked to vacate their respective halls of residence by 4 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2020, following the president’s directive that schools should close down effective March 16.

The statement asked students to vacate the campus, taking along all their belongings.

But students are not happy with a part of the statement asking them to leave with their belongings.

They have raised concerns over the possibility of vacating campus with their belongings before the deadline.

The students are also questioning whether their colleagues who have already left campus should come back for their items.

Meanwhile, former Vice-President of the Legon Hall, Joshua Worship Frimpong, says that he will petition the Office of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor in charge of Students and Academic Affairs on Thursday over the matter.
