A security and safety consultant, Ayitey Isaac, has asked the Ghana Police not to take threats from the family of the three kidnapped girls lightly.

Spokesperson for the three families and father of one of the kidnapped girls in Takoradi, Michael Grant Hayford, in an interview with Atinka FM’s Kaakyire Ofori Ayim on the “AM Drive Wednesday morning threatened to kidnap some Police officers’ who they suspect to have aided the suspect in the case, Sam Udoetuk Wills, to escape from Police custody.

Michael Grant Hayford explained that the three families arrived at this decision because the Police is literally dragging its feet in this case.

He accused some Police men of taking a bribe of GHS 130,000 in order to aid the suspect escape from police custody.

But Speaking to Atinka News, Security and Safety consultant, Ayitey Isaac, described the decision by the family as wrong and unfortunate.

He added that although the family might have made that statement out of grief and anger, Ghana Police should act swiftly.

“What the family of the deceased is saying has many sides, the people are probably making this statement due to emotional torture they might be going through due to the kidnap. If left unconcerned, this issue might bring about a whole lot of other issues”, he added.

Between August of 2018 and January 2019, there have been a quite a number of kidnappings which has generated an operation #BringBackOurTaadiGirls on Social media.

Notable among them is the kidnap of three girls; 15-year old Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, and Ruth Love Quayson.

Suspect Nigerian Sam Udoetuk Wills who was re-arrested after breaking out of police custody in connection with these girls, was handed a 36-months jail term. For breaking out of cell.

However, none of the people he is thought to have kidnapped have been found.
