Regional Minister continues tour of the region

Awutu Beraku (C/R), Aug 21, GNA - The Central Regional Minister, Mrs Ama Benyiwa Doe, has appealed to the chiefs and people in Awutu-Senya District to attach importance to peace and unity to facilitate the development of the area.

She said no investor would invest in conflict areas and appealed to them to burry their differences and to give peace a chance. Mrs Benyiwa Doe said this at separate durbars at Kasoa, Senya Beraku and Awutu Beraku as part of her tour of the Central Region to introduce herself to the people.

At Awutu Beraku the minister said the Awutu-Beraku/Awutu Bontrase/Obrachire road would be rehabilitated very soon by Millennium Development Authority (MiDA).

She appealed to the chiefs to support the assembly to improve its internal revenue generation to enable its get enough funds for development.

Neeyi Abokuade Wettey Agyemang Otabil, President of Awutu Beraku Traditional Council, assured the minister of their readiness to cooperate with the district assembly to achieve success. At Kasoa Mrs Benyiwa Doe appealed to the Odikro and his elders to assist the assembly to succeed in its efforts to move traders from the old market to the new market.

The regional minister had earlier interacted with members of the Awutu-Senya District Assembly and workers of the decentralized departments. 21 Aug. 09
