A 21-year-old suspected armed robber Abdul Karim Sulemana is in the grips of the Sunyani Municipal Police Command for attacking a 32-year-old man with a knife in his home.

Sulemana ordered the victim, Mr. Kwadwo Ntim, a welder by profession to surrender whatever amount of money in his possession to him to avoid death for himself and his wife.

Briefing journalists on Monday in Sunyani, Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong said, at about 20:00 hours on Sunday, July 8, 2018 Sulemana broke into Ntim’s house and threatened him and his wife under with a knife and took a techno mobile phone and an amount of Gh¢300.00.

He said victim gathered courage and struggled with the suspect for a while to retrieve his items but was unsuccessful. He, therefore, raised an alarm for assistance from the public which attracted some neighbours to the scene leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Chief Inspector Oppong said they finally retrieved the money and the phone and called in the Police who came to take suspect to the Police Station and detain him to assist in investigations.

The Police commended the community members for responding to the call of Mr. Ntim to arrest suspect and urged the public to react same in similar situations in their localities.
