The Former Ashanti Regional Chairman of Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Listowel Yesu Bukarson has described the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government as the worst government the country has witnessed over the years.

He complained that Ghanaians have been faced with serious challenges within the eight –year rule of President John Mahama, saying the country is in shambles.

‘Are you happy today, me am not, because our country and our economy are in shambles, this is the worst government we have ever had, go back to the annals,’ he said.

Bemoaning over the poor state of the economy, Mr. Bukarson questioned businesses lost through the erratic power supply period.

According to him, most businesses have collapsed due to mismanagement of the economy.

He wondered why the NDC government has not been able to solve pertinent issues bedevilling Ghanaians.

Speaking on Abusua FM’s Church bells hosted by Ike-Da Unpredictable, the former Ashanti regional GJA boss added that ‘look at how media houses and businesses are collapsing because of “dumsor”, look at the fuel bought by media houses for their generators…look at how many newspapers which do not have sales, TV stations which do not have adverts.

Do you know how many people who have lost their jobs, how many lives have perished because of that, do you know how many people have struggled, go to town today’.

He also expressed disappointment over social interventions such as GYEEDA, SADA that have collapsed in the North.

’It’s not about tribal politics, but we Northerners are sincere, that is why I feel bitter about the President’s governance. Anytime I see him I will point it out to him that Ghanaians are suffering, people are really struggling in the North, when you communicate with people, they tell you that previously they could pay their children’s school fees through the sale of two guinea fowls, but ever since President Mahama assumed office, they have to sell six fowls to pay school fees,‘ he fumed.

The defeated parliamentary candidate for Builsa North constituency called on Ghanaians to vote massively for the Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during December polls to change the fortunes of the country.

‘Tomorrow if Nana Addo is President by January 7, which I know he will be, if after one, two, three years he is not performing, and if we are where we are today, I will personally speak against it,’ he hinted.
