Lebanese Culture Center in Ghana donate to Korle Bu Pediatric Oncology Unit

The Lebanese Culture Center in Ghana have donated items worth GHC100,000 to the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

This forms part of the Lebanese community’s desire to help children living with cancer and help them receive treatment in a conducive environment.

The items include Milo, Nido, soap, brushes, 2 set of air conditioners, 2 Television set, drip stand, glucometer with strips, cardiorespiratory monitor, urine testing strips among other equipment to aid the Pediatric Oncology Unit in discharging their duties on daily basis.

The CEO of Korle Bu, Mr. Daniel Asare, who received the equipment on behalf of the unit, expressed profound gratitude, saying the donation will go a long way to aid in the day to day running of the unit.

He praised the Lebanese Culture Center for recognising the challenges of the unit and for deciding to partner with government in providing quality health care to people.

‘’ These are people who recognize and know challenges we go through and know that Government alone cannot do it, so they are patterning with the government to make sure that the under privilege has access to quality health care’’ the CEO stressed.

Mr. Daniel Asare also believes the gesture shown will go a long way to support families stressing, that through this equipment, children will now have access to quality health care.

A member of the Lebanese Cultural Centre in Ghana, Nadeen Jaber speaking at the event said it's the first time her outfit has made donations to the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and is hoping to contribute their quota often so as to develop the unit and put smiles on the children's faces because they are their heartbeat.
